Thumbs up for Yahoo! Merchant Solutions
I just got off the phone with my brother who just cancelled our day old merchant account at Yahoo!.
Thumbs up why? I really don’t know how to explain it best, but their business deal felt “human” and the “right thing to do”. Moving along… we’ve been meaning to setup our own online business for sometime now and Yahoo! Store was a leading choice. Sadly, Yahoo! did not have the solutions we needed, therefore after some hard thinking I had to cancel it. I quickly checked the billing statement part of the site and noticed that the card wasn’t billed yet so I called up my brother to get him to call Yahoo! Billing.
I got him to ask if they were still going to bill us because we’ve been only been using it for a day and it would suck if we have to wait for a month for them to release the domain name we registered and of course, having to pay. He was patched through someone, and the first answer to his prompt question was “Yes, you will be billed.”. Quite upset, he told the lady that we aren’t satisfied with the service (something also came up) and asked for consideration, without hesitation, she said that since we put it that way, we may be eligible for a refund.
Short story, glad that they (and she) didn’t press it on us that bad; it was good, even.
